The Author of Movement

Ellie Grayson Mendez, Founder of Novel Movement

My background in fitness and performance spans more than 15 years, with training across barre, Pilates, traditional strength work, and movement disciplines including the Alexander Technique and Suzuki method.

But the real inspiration for Novel Movement came from a simple realization: the biggest obstacle in fitness is rarely the body. It’s the story we tell ourselves.

After becoming a mother, I saw how mindset, knowledge, and environment dramatically shape how people approach movement. When people feel capable, supported, and curious about their bodies, fitness becomes something they want—not something they endure.

Novel Movement was created to be a space where people can change that narrative.

Our formats combine yoga, strength, HIIT, Pilates, and barre to create intelligent, full-body training that supports both physical and mental growth. And because science shows we’re more consistent when we move together, community is at the heart of everything we do.

This is a place where movement becomes part of your story—and where every chapter builds strength, confidence, and connection.

Signature

Power Chapter

(Muscle building + strength | Reformer + weights)

Your strength story begins here. Power Chapter focuses on building strong foundations with reformer resistance, free weights, and tempo training. A transformative format where each rep helps write the next chapter in your strength journey.

Page Turner

(Endurance + cardio | HIIT + fusion)

Keep turning the page. This high-energy, fast-paced format blends cardio bursts, barre pulses, and Pilates-inspired strength flows to build stamina and endurance. You’ll leave with that post-chapter glow—sweaty, breathless, and ready for more.

Restorative

Flow & Prose

(Flexibility + mobility | Yoga + Barre)

Unfold your body like a poem. Flow & Prose moves through lyrical yoga flows, lengthening barre work, and breath-driven transitions that release tension and boost flexibility—ideal for days when you need to feel open and graceful.

Epilogue

(Restoration + grounding | Gentle yoga + restorative Pilates)
Slow down and soften. The Epilogue offers a calming close to your week or workout. Through yin-style yoga, breathwork, and gentle reformer or mat Pilates, you’ll find recovery, reflection, and rest—because every strong story deserves a peaceful ending.

Dynamic

Core Edit

(Core stability + integration | Fusion of all)

Edit from the inside out. This core-centric fusion blends Pilates precision, barre balance, yoga alignment, and functional strength to develop deep core stability. Expect a focused, full-body rewrite of how you move and stand.
